She’s best known for her club and dance tracks, but Alexandra Stan always makes her mark when she drops a stripped-back track and that’s exactly what she’s done with this new single and music video, “Take Me Home”. This follows up her feature on RDGLDGRN’s single “Danger” alongside Nitty Scott.
Alexandra Stan is a Romanian star who is best known for her worldwide hit single “Mr Saxobeat”; since then, she has been continuing her career by releasing awesome songs and collaborating with some big names including INNA, Daddy Yankee, Antonia, Mohombi, and Manuel Riva. She’s definitely someone to keep watching, especially since she’s already been a global success, and with her dedication and incredible vocals, she will surely do it again. She went to live in Los Angeles during 2018-2019 to work on new music and released “I Think I Love It”, which started a whole new era and saw her sign a new record deal with Universal Music Romania and MediaPro Music. Recently she released “Obsesii” which has charted well in her home country.
This new song has been written by Alexandra Stan and Alin Sterian (iRonic Distors) with Liviu Teodorescu helping on production alongside Alexandra Stan. The music video looks more like an acoustic live version video of the song which has been directed by Catalin Dardea with Mircea Steriu on the guitar.

The song is something fans have heard at concerts for a number of years, but it seems Alexandra Stan has waited for the right time to release the track, and now more than ever certainly feels the right time. It has a “Thanks For Leaving” stripped-back vibe to it allowing her to completely sell the song on her beautiful vocals and runs. Her voice is everything in this track, and we can really feel her emotions in every lyric she sings. The lyrics of “Take Me Home” suggests a relationship with the one you love and missing them and wishing to be with them at home, with ‘home’ being a metaphor for them and how they make you feel – home really is where the heart is, and we’re all missing our loved ones during lockdown which makes this song even more important.
In the video, Alexandra Stan is stylish, wearing what looks to be the front half of a black dress that is loosely tied with straps across her back paired with some red and white hot pants and a pair of turquoise-blue ankle boots. The camera shots are what switches up the performance with many close-ups which makes it difficult to enjoy, but Alexandra Stan makes it work giving us heartfelt energy right through the camera.
“Take Me Home” by Alexandra Stan is available to download and stream right now, via Universal Music Romania.
