Hummels spilled some of her favorite superfoods in an interview with FitForFun.com. She revealed that she loves to eat quinoa. "This is an ancient grain that is particularly easy to digest," she explains. "I appreciate quinoa for its alkaline effect – and because it's gluten-free." "Quinoa is a gluten-free whole grain that cooks in just 15 minutes. It's often called a superfood, because it's packed with B vitamins, antioxidants and heart-healthy fats," says the Mayo Clinic.
Another superfood that is present in Hummels' diet is edamame. "Low in calories and full of protein," she says to FitForFun.com. "Fills you up, but not fat, and tastes so nutty and delicious. Ideal for salads. This also saves on dressing."
