Multi-platinum singer/songwriter Zayn Malik has paired up with emerging star Zhavia Ward for a duet on a new cover for the track “A Whole New World” which is going to feature in the upcoming live-action remake of Disney’s classic movie ‘Aladdin’. They made the announcement about the release through their official Twitter account.

While the release of ‘Aladdin’, starring Will Smith, Naomi Scott, and Mena Massoud is only a few weeks away, Zayn brings intimate vocals by releasing a new version for ‘A Whole New World’ along with Zhavia, ahead of the movie’s release. The duo takes you to wonder by wonder with their magical new version of the enchanting track that comes with a spellbinding music video featuring the singers.
Sadly, the duo didn’t sing the tune on a magic carpet ride (we wish) but they are looking wistful in separate parts of the city. Zayn can be seen wandering around the streets of New York by himself while singing the infamous chorus.

The original song is one of Disney’s most popular songs from the 1992 movie which was performed by Lea Salonga and Brad Kane as the singing voices of Princess Jasmine and Aladdin.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, the live action version of Aladdin stars Mena Massoud as the boy who stumbles upon the magical lamp in the magical cave. He meets the Genie which is being played by Will Smith and gets the attention of Princess Jasmine, played by Naomi Scott.
Zayn and Zhavia’s version of the classic track is produced by Saltwives aka Alex Orient and David Phelan and the music video is directed by Philip Andelman, who has also worked with artists like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, etc in the past.

This is not the only new rendition fans can expect to hear in the upcoming movie ‘Aladdin’. Will Smith and DJ Khaled are also set to perform a new version of a “Friend Like Me.” Also, Naomi Scott will be performing a new song called “Speechless.”
‘Aladdin’ hits the theatre on May 24 and the digital soundtrack for the movie comes out on May 21.
